Making a Difference through Mentoring

The vision for mentoring to this group of teens started while preaching to cadets at the Academy in Williamson County.   One girl dared to ask the question, “but Miss, who will help us when we get out? We will go back to the same school, the same home and the same friends and I know I’ll start doing the same stuff”.    It became apparent by the reaction of all the teens in the room that they had the same question in the back of their mind.  It was easy to stand when they had no choice- but who would help them stand out in the ‘real world’ where they faced tough choices on a daily basis.

When we began working with at-risk youth in Williamson County in 2010  it became apparent that there was a need to have Christian men and women step into the lives of these teens and mentor them towards success.  With the cards stacked against them, trouble at home, in school and in the court system, these youth would need someone to help guide them and help them stay on track so they could reach their full potential.    I Corinthians 11:1 Follow me while I follow Christ.  Like it or not, this generation of teens are our future leaders- it is our job to show them how to become all they were created to be.

God bless you.
